We are thrilled to share some exciting news with our Equity Kids supporters! Please join us in welcoming our new Program Director, Henry Aguayo.
Henry brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and a deeply empathetic approach to our team. With his doctoral training in counseling psychology and clinical background in trauma-informed care, we are excited by the ways Henry will bring innovation and expertise to this role. Henry shared a few words about his vision:
"My clinical background in trauma-informed care has taught me that true equity is about more than access; it is about creating spaces where every child feels a genuine sense of safety and belonging. In this leadership role, I am excited to champion a 'healing-centered' approach to our programming... I look forward to working closely with our board, staff, and partners to cultivate these vital spaces where children are not only seen and heard but empowered to reach their full potential."
Henry is stepping into his role at a pivotal moment and will be right on the ground with us helping to facilitate our upcoming Juneteenth programs in Santa Fe, New Mexico. These group workshops are designed to foster inclusive, restorative learning environments where youth will learn about the history of Juneteenth with fun, constructive activities.
As we prepare for these impactful community events, we are still seeking donations to help cover our operational and material costs for the group workshops. Your support of any amount is greatly appreciated.
We welcome you and your young ones to join us for our June 17th and June 18th workshops in partnership with the Santa Fe Public Library - click here for more information or see the flyer included at the end of this email.
Thank you for your continued partnership, belief in our mission, and warm welcome to Henry as he guides our programs forward.
